Weekly Update! (10/04/2017 - 16/04/2017)

So I think weekly updates would be a great way to track my progress to not only see how much i lost overall but to see what meals I have had each week, what events and challenged I faced diet wise and how that effected my progress. So Here it is my first weekly update Monday-Sunday.

Monday 10/04/2017 - Sunday 16/04/2017

This was my Food plan for the week.

I know it is not the most exiting thing to most people but I have 4 reasons for that.

1) I am a very picky eater there isn't really a great deal that I do eat especially in the way of fruit and veggies so it is hard for me to eat a lot of different things because i do no eat a lot of different things.

2) Because I am a picky eater I tend to try something enjoy it and become obsessed with that kind of thing and its all i eat for a long time as I sure you can tell creamy pasta is my current obsession and finding that I can have it on slimming world was an amazing discovery!

3) You will also notice that each week I will only have 1 main meat in my diet this meat will change each week but because I am a student and meat can get expensive I find its cheeper to buy 1 meat in bulk for the week and only use that and because I am not too bothered about varying my meals day to day I am happy with that.

4) Also I love pasta! I have always loved pasta and finding out that all dried pasta is free on Slimming World to me is a god sent!

So this was my plan for the week and unfortunately I stuck to is quite a bit but it did go a bit all over the place the next table is what I actually did eat this week.

So looking at it although i did not stick to my plan up until sunday (which was the day I knew would be the day I slip up) I wasn't over my syns and stuck to the Slimming world plan just not my personal meal plan which honestly I am happy with.

The days with the green triangles in the corner are the days I am at work so I have my Lunch at work and 3/4 of those days I forgot to take my lunch in so that was what I had to buy from the cafe at work.

Syns for the week

I am allowed between 35-105 Syns for the week.

I had planned to have 30 syns that week with a bit of wiggle room for anything extra I ended up having.

I actual had between Tuesday and saturday (before I really slipped up) 42 Syns
But between the burger king the sunday roast and all of the alcohol I consumed over saturday and monday I really messed up and know I went over so I am just writing that off and giving myself a fresh start tomorrow to start again.

This weeks overall thoughts

So this week could have gone better admittedly but I have some goals to reach this week and know where I want to improve which is what this journey is all about trial and error. I am not going to dwell on my mistakes just learn from them and leave them in the week before.

Today I am going to plan my meals out again and try and stick to them but stuff happens and I know that isn't always possible but as long as I am keeping within my syn count I will be fine. I am going to set myself some goals this week and try to stick to them and I stayed within my syn limit for most of the week and I am happy with my 4lbs loss but I know if I had stuck to it at the end it could have been more but this is all a learning curve and I will try harder and see what next week brings.

Goals for next week

- Stick to meal plan where possible
-Always leave extra syns for drinking just incase I end up going out
-Try to eat breakfast every morning (I am rubbish for eating breakfast)
-Don't go over Syn limit

Any hints and tips are welcome....
Thanks for following my journey guys if anyone has any tips for me or anyone else feel free to comment hints and tips are always welcome.

Something I am really struggling with is finding meals to take to work with me there is a microwave that I can use at work also but I think cold pastas are something I would enjoy the most or something I can make in one batch and freeze or put in the fridge for the week. Any recipes or ideas would be very helpful.

So, Slimming World...

I have attempted to start slimming world twice now and both times i have given up before I even hit week 2, not because of the plan just because deep down I really didn't want to loose the weight and I knew I didn't, other people wanted me to loose it.

Now 'I' want to loose it and not even just from a 'I will look better if I am thinner' point of view but I want to walk and run about all day without my feet, legs and back hurting like they do now, I don't want to be out of breath because I had to run up the stairs at work and honestly just eat better and stop waisting money of rubbish easy food that doesn't fill me up and just makes me look greasy and fat.

So this week I gave Slimming World another whirl. I wasn't sure if i was going to stick it out so honestly I didn't go to a meeting I still had all the info from the last time I went and I weighed myself and planned out my meals and thought I would see how it goes. I wasn't expecting everything to be perfect because I knew I would be going out drinking on sunday(Bank holiday weekend) and I would stick to it as much as I could but I knew I would stop caring once someone offered me a jagar bomb.

To summarise my week, I weighed myself on Monday (10/04/17) and I was 15 Stone exactly. I stuck to the plan 100% up until Sunday when I just ate and drank what I wanted. But luckily I weighed myself on Saturday (15/04/17) and I was 7lbs down! What! I had lost half a stone in 5 days! incredible I had weighed myself today (18/04/17) and put 3lbs on from eating and drinking whatever I wanted over the last 3 days but my trial run this week has proved to me that I will loose weight on this plan so I am sticking to it!

So here I am 4lbs down after half trying and ready to give it a good go!

I have a music festival to go to in July and I am aiming to loose as much as I can before then it is on the 27th July so I have 14 weeks to go! Wish me Luck!

Current Weight - 206lbs (14 Stone 10lbs/ 93.44 Kg)
Weight Lost - 4lbs

My first steps to weight loss...

Before I start this roller coaster of a journey, I think it would be best to introduce myself. Hello, I'm Sophia, I am a student and I love food. Although I have always been a very picky eater I have never not eaten. I wouldn't say I was a chubby child but I carried a bit if puppy fat around, definitely! I was a relatively slim teenager (despite not thinking I was) and it wasn't until about 4 years ago I started to really pile the weight on, fast.

Basically I got myself into a fantastic relationship and ever since then I have been really happy, felt really good about myself (despite being at my biggest) and haven't been paying attention to my weight or health so I gained a lot of weight in a short amount of time. I went from being around 9 1/2 - 10 stone to 13 stone in a year and a half and before I knew it I had started university. I continued to put on weight because of all the drinking, and the cheep food thats quick and easy to cook. My first year at university I was living off a diet of fruity cider, Jack Daniel's and full fat coke, supernoodles and microwave meals, so not the best diet plan. Even more weight cropped up on me and before i knew it I had but on another 2 stone in a year bringing my weight to a full 15 stone.

I know this is not the fattest anyone has ever been but I am 5ft 5" and I was not happy with my body. Thankfully in this last year I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost any either. I have gone between 14 1/2 stone to 15 stone this last year and I really am going to do something about it this time.

My current measurements are

Height - 5ft 5"
weight - 210 lbs. (15 Stone/ 95.25 kilo)

Tops - size 16-18 (UK)
Bottoms - size 14- 16 (UK)
(I forgot to mention I'm a Lady)
Bra - 38 DD (hopefully these won't shrink too much)

Waist - 42"
Chest - 47"
Hips - 43"
Left Thigh - 26"
Right Thigh - 27"
Left Arm  - 14"
Right Arm - 14"

So this is me, as it stands chunky and willing so shift some chub. I'm going to be doing my best and hopefully should see some results soon.

Wish me luck!!

Dark Angels Review

I honestly really do love the Dark Angels face and body cleanser by Lush but…

The only problem I have with it is that once you have used it, some of it stays on your face. Even when you have tried to wash it off, and it can be annoying to get out of the shower looking dirtier then when you went in, and I wasn’t the only one.

So I tried using less product like others online had suggested, but I still came out of the shower looking like a chimney sweep from Mary Poppins. Now I use it as an exfoliator, then I use micellar water to wipe off what is left and cleanse my face.

It is a bit inconvenient but my skin feels lovely and smooth every time I use it. I have found that the second tub of it I bought actually does not stick to my face as much as the last one did.

The cleanser contains charcoal powder which is brilliant for the skin, it draws out bacteria, poisons, chemicals, dirt and other micro – particles from the skin which is why it is really good for acne.

Avocado oil is another main ingredient in this product, avocado oil is really good for dry or scaly skin, and is used to help treat skin conditions like eczema.

With all the benefits of using dark angels and the way it makes my skin feel, having to give my face an extra wipe is not a big inconvenience, if it was I would not have purchased another tub.

It lasts a long time as well the 100g tub cost £6.95 and I use it every other shower and it has last me about 5 months I would say, very good value for money in my opinion.

9/10 – The only downside is, that you can not always wash it all off without using another product after.
